About Riyadh Time

Riyadh uses Arabia Standard Time (AST), which is UTC+3 year-round. Saudi Arabia does not observe Daylight Saving Time. AST is shared with Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, and Yemen, making it the standard timezone of the Arabian Peninsula's core economies. Riyadh's fixed UTC+3 is numerically identical to Moscow and Istanbul, though the three cities operate in distinct economic contexts.

The Saudi Exchange (Tadawul), one of the world's largest emerging market exchanges by capitalisation, trades from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM AST Sunday through Thursday. Saudi Arabia is home to Saudi Aramco, the world's most valuable company by market capitalisation. OPEC+ production decisions and Saudi government oil policy announcements are released on AST and immediately affect global energy prices.

The Sunday-to-Thursday business week creates a specific scheduling challenge: there is no full-day overlap between Riyadh and Western partners on Fridays (Riyadh is on weekend, the West is working) or Sundays (Riyadh is working, the West is on weekend). Monday through Thursday are the only days with full mutual working-day availability across the Riyadh-London or Riyadh-New York corridor.
