Multi Tally Counter Guide

A multi tally counter lets you track several categories at the same time. It is useful for scores, attendance types, inventory categories, or behavior observations.

Multi Tally Counter - Tips & Best Practices

  • Add one counter per category.
  • Name each counter before starting.
  • Copy the final count summary when finished.

Tracking Multiple Categories at Once

The multi tally counter lets you run several independent counts simultaneously on one screen. Add a counter for each category you need to track, label them clearly before starting, then increment each counter as its specific event occurs. This is useful whenever a single total is not enough: counting two team scores, tracking multiple types of behaviour observation, or recording attendance by category.

Multi Counter Use Cases

  • Sports scoring: one counter per team for live score tracking.
  • Behaviour observation: track on-task, off-task, and disruptive events separately.
  • Event attendance by type: count adults, children, and staff in separate tallies.
  • Inventory audit: count items in multiple categories without switching screens.
  • Sales floor: track enquiries, quotes given, and sales closed simultaneously.

Recording and Resetting Multi Counts

Copy or screenshot the final totals before resetting — the counter does not save data between sessions. For recurring counts across multiple sessions, note the end-of-session totals in a spreadsheet after each reset. If you only need one count, the simple tally counter has a cleaner interface for single-category events.
