Using the Lap Timer
The lap timer is designed for any activity where you need to measure repeated intervals: track laps, swimming lengths, circuit training rounds, cycling loops, or interval workouts. Each time you press "Lap," the current interval is saved and a new one begins automatically.
The visual bar chart gives you an instant read on your consistency -- ideally, all bars should be similar heights for even pacing. The "vs Avg" column shows how each lap compares to your overall average, making it easy to spot where you sped up or slowed down.
Coaches use lap data to plan training progressions, identify fatigue points, and set realistic targets. Athletes can track their lap consistency over multiple sessions to measure improvement. The variance stat indicates how evenly paced your laps are -- a lower number means more consistent performance.
