How it works

  1. Name your event and pick an emoji

Give the countdown a title that anyone can recognise - "Sarah's Wedding", "France Vacation", "Exam Day".

  2. Set the target date

Pick any future date. The countdown updates live in the browser, ticking down to midnight of that day.

  3. Copy the link and share it

You get a permanent URL. Send it by text, WhatsApp, email, or post it in a group chat. No app needed, no sign-up required.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an account to create a countdown?

No. Creating a countdown is completely free and requires no sign-up. Just fill in the name, date, and emoji, and you get a permanent shareable link instantly.

What timezone does the countdown use?

The countdown ticks down to midnight at the start of the chosen date in the viewer's local browser timezone - So it feels personal wherever your audience is.

Can I edit the event or change the date after creating it?

Not at the moment - Each link is fixed to the name and date set at creation time. If you need to change something, simply create a new countdown and share the new link.

How long does a countdown link stay active?

Links stay live indefinitely. After the event date passes, the countdown shows a "This event has passed" message. You can also create a new countdown for the next occurrence.

What if I just need a simple timer, not a calendar countdown?

Use the Timer Link Generator to create a shareable countdown by hours and minutes instead of by date. Or use the Countdown Timer for a quick, private countdown.
