Order Randomizer Guide

Use an order randomizer when everyone needs a turn but the order should be fair. Shuffle the names, then use the result as your running order.

Order Randomizer - Tips & Best Practices

  • Shuffle once for a fixed order.
  • Pick one at a time when you want suspense.
  • Use a presentation timer for timed turns.

Creating a Fair Random Order

The order randomizer shuffles a list so no one ends up first or last by the same pattern every time. Paste the names or items, run the shuffle, and use the resulting order for speaking rounds, presentation sequences, game turns, or assignment reviews. Re-run the shuffle at the start of each new session to prevent the same person always going last.

Order Randomizer Use Cases

  • Student presentations: shuffle the class list to set who presents each day of the week.
  • Round-robin speaking: randomize who gives updates in a team meeting.
  • Game turn order: shuffle player names before each match for fair advantage rotation.
  • Review rounds: randomize which work is reviewed first to avoid reviewer fatigue bias.

Pairing Order With Time

Once you have a shuffled order, use the presentation timer or interval timer to give each person the same time slot. For timed speaking rounds, set a countdown per speaker using the traffic light timer so the audience gets a visual warning when time is running out.
